CAPTRAIN Italy has announced a sale-lease back agreement with Railpool for 13 Alstom Traxx DC3 locomotives, which feature last mile capability.
Captrain says the agreement will increase the number of locomotives of this type leased from Railpool to 32, with eight of these locomotives set to be delivered from the second half of 2024. Railpool will also provide full-service maintenance for the fleet under a long-term agreement.
The leasing company says the agreement strengthens its status as the largest leaser of Traxx DC3 Last Mile locomotives in Italy.
“The partnership with Railpool allows us to move forward expeditiously in our fleet renewal plan, which is almost complete,” says Mr Mauro Pessaon, CEO of Captrain Italy. “Our customers will benefit from locomotives with the best performance in terms of traction, reliability and cost. In addition to being able to count on the last mile and the best readiness for the upcoming ERTMS implementation.”
