All three stations on the Yanchep Rail Extension Project are receiving the finishing touches as the project moves into completion phase.

The Yanchep Rail Extension will deliver the last proposed section of the Joondalup Line from Butler, 14.5 kilometres north to Yanchep to help support ongoing growth in the area and reduce congestion, while supporting about 1,370 jobs.

The project will help develop activity centres by stimulating new employment opportunities in the Alkimos Secondary Centre, Eglinton District Centre and Yanchep Strategic Metropolitan Centre and supporting higher density land use for residential and commercial purposes.

The extension will give more than 150,000 future Yanchep–Two Rocks residents another transport option to travel around Perth.

At Alkimos Station (Kyleeup), the building structure is complete with cabinetry, staff facilities, internal fittings and furniture currently being installed.

At Eglinton Station (Wilgarup), the building structure is also complete with tiling and internal fittings well underway.

Finally, at Yanchep Station the structure, ceiling, cladding, glazing and roofs are well progressed and all electrical and mechanical boards have been installed. Hard and soft landscaping works are underway in and around the station.

At all three stations, finishing touches are being done on ticketing machines, entry screens, car parks, bike shelters, landscaping, lighting and final service installations. The escalators and lifts are undergoing final testing before they are ready for use, and public art pieces such as ceiling skylights are currently being installed.
