Executive One: When US President Richard Nixon Traveled On A Regularly Scheduled Commercial Flight

It is well-known to most aviation enthusiasts that any aircraft operated by the United States Air Force that is transporting the sitting President of the United States will fly under the callsign of Air Force One. For decades, this designation has been given most commonly to a pair of modified Boeing 747-200s that have been given the military designation VC-25A, the iconic blue and white jets that traditionally carry the President through the skies.
