Australia Card v Digital ID a history

Does anyone remember back in 1985 Labor (BobHawke) tried to introduce the “Australia Card” to ID everyone. Back then people were smarter and stood strongly against it. With the help of the LNP it was repeatedly voted down in the senate until it was finally abandoned in 1989.

Here we are again…but this time Labor with the help of the Greens have rammed it through and forced it on the public without consultation.

Socialist governments dont ask for the opinions of the citizens, they just force on them. We are quickly slipping under authoritarian rule by a government who doesn’t care what its citizens want.

The Voice is another clear example of this egotistical stance.

There are many reasons why Australia should not introduce a Digital ID.

The Digital ID Act is slatted to become Law in December 2024.

  1. Nope…..with all the hacking of sensitive information from government agencies ie: Medicare, Health Scripts and Optus etc. it is poor idea….

In the guise of safety it gives them aka governments too much power for them to freeze your bank accounts deny services over trivial matters….this seems to leading social credit scoring like in China…..

Prefer a hard copy….and putting all our eggs in one basket is a poor idea….once shouldn’t rely on Digital alone…..Lose your phone, or power your stuffed…..

Same thing with global online cloud fare outage, people couldn’t make payments via card and stuffed v/line and other companies too!
