When the pandemic lockdowns lingered on in Asia long after the rest of global aviation had restarted, it seemed like it would take years for the region's airlines to recover. However, once China rejoined the race and other major countries in Northeast Asia, such as Japan, Taiwan and South Korea, followed suit, that outlook changed almost overnight.
