INTERNATIONAL Railway Journal is seeking nominations for its third annual Women in Rail Award.
With many railways and rail sector businesses looking to improve their gender balance, we are set to showcase some of the incredible women who are breaking down barriers and achieving remarkable things across the industry.
The awards will recognise individuals who exhibit exceptional leadership, as well as professional capability, and who are serving as an inspiration to others. An interview with each of the winners will appear in the June 2023 edition of IRJ magazine and throughout June on railjournal.com.
“We launched the IRJ Women in Rail Award in 2022 with great success and we’re hoping this year’s entries will match the high calibre of the women we’ve featured over the past two years,” says IRJ editor-in-chief, Mr Kevin Smith
“The railway industry has traditionally suffered from a gap between male and female employment representation. A great deal of work is taking place to close this gap and the industry is steadily benefiting from an increasingly diverse workforce. As well as celebrating the achievements of our leading women, I hope this year’s awards serve as an inspiration to others. Myself and the rest of IRJ’s editorial team are really looking forward to going through the entries and hearing about the amazing work taking place all over the world.”
To nominate yourself or a colleague for an IRJ Women in Rail Award, please complete the questionnaire via the following link. Nominations will remain open until May 8.
