Air Marshal Robert Chipman – a former Hornet fighter jet pilot and instructor – will now become Vice Chief of the ADF, to be replaced in his current role by Air Vice-Marshal Stephen Chappell.
Fifteen months after the first aircraft commenced flying in 2023, the completion of essential testing, evaluation and training activities has occurred alongside the establishment of a robust fleet support and maintenance system.
Speaking at a media event in Sydney, Julie Kitcher, chief sustainability officer at Airbus, said a “basket of measures” is needed to promote more use of SAF, including a mandate that can be “phased in slowly and then uplifted”.
