A fire started in the tail of a retired Cathay Airbus A330-300 and spread across the rest of the aircraft, leaving the fuselage completely destroyed. The aircraft was parked at Ciudad Real International Airport (CQM) in central Spain. The local fire department in the Castilla-La Mancha region and other authorities attended the blaze on April 18th. Multiple fire appliances attended the fire, with the airport fire crew and other local departments attending.
