On 19 April 2024, social media was flooded by a Russian Tupolev Tu-22 supersonic bomber on fire and free-falling in an uncontrolled spin. Photos then emerged of the aircraft's destroyed wreck on the ground. The Full-Scale Russian Invasion of Ukraine has been raging for over 2 years now, so how many Russian strategic bombers have been lost? The fog of war is real and the numbers are highly debated.
