As a rule in life, there are many more near misses for every accident. One near miss was recently averted at New York's busy JFK airport. A SWISS Airbus A330-300 was cleared for takeoff, but the pilots aborted the roll after seeing three aircraft crossing their path down the runway. JFK is the most connected international airport in the United States and serves the longest non-stop flight in the world.
