The Air Force traditionally faces many adversaries (enemy aircraft, budget cuts, gravity, and alligators). Four miles out of downtown Tampa, Florida, a large alligator wandered onto the MacDill Air Force Base (one of the largest airbases in Florida). It's hard to know if the gator was hoping to become an airman and do its patriotic duty for its country or had more nefarious motives. Regardless, the large crocodilian was seen hanging around the undercarriage of a KC-135 Stratotanker (one of the Air Force's principal tanker aircraft). The assaulted aircraft appeared to be KC-135R, tail number 38880, which the Air Force Reserve Command stated some time ago had found a new home supporting the Hawaii Air National Guard.
