Londoners can make big savings on an escape to the country with rail offers

Greater Anglia has launched a summer campaign to encourage tourists to travel to East Anglia by rail.

Passengers using Greater Anglia train services from London Liverpool Street will be able to enjoy rail travel to East Anglia’s top destinations such as Cambridge, Southend, Manningtree, Colchester, Norwich and the Essex, Suffolk and Norfolk coast by train for less thanks to a range of ticket discounts.

The train operator has launched a range of discounted fares, including advance tickets that offer customers savings of between 60 and 70 per cent on the standard walk-up prices. Those travelling in a group of three or more can take advantage of GroupSave, while customers over 50 are being offered a Club 50 discount.

Children also travel for just £2 return to anywhere on Greater Anglia’s network.

All of these tickets can be combined with the rail operator’s popular discounted offers on East Anglian attractions this year – such as punting in Cambridge, at the Sea Life Centre in Great Yarmouth and the East Anglian Railway Museum, plus many more.

There are over 150 attractions offers up for grabs, with something for everyone from river cruises, discounts on eating out, entry to historical houses, gardens and parks and exhibitions to museums, shows and tours.

Greater Anglia’s Commercial and Customer Services Director, Martin Moran, said:
“Travelling by train is cheaper than you think, and with our price promise and no booking fees, you are guaranteed to get the lowest price when you book through our website.
“With discounts on attractions and our range of cheaper tickets, we are giving people more money to spend on having a great time when they reach their destination.”

For the best value fares, passengers should book in advance and the earlier customers book, the more they can save.

The full list of attractions offers can be viewed and downloaded at https://www.greateranglia.co.uk/offers and are valid on the production of a rail ticket (see website for full terms and conditions).
