Two men injured during violent brawl inside exclusive MCC room during Sydney v Hawthorn clash

An ugly fight reportedly broke out in an exclusive MCC dining room at the MCG during an AFL match on Sunday.

It’s understood a teenager refused to stand for the national anthem during the Anzac service before Hawthorn’s clash with Sydney.

According to Melbourne radio station 3AW, a nearby fan told the youngster to “show some respect”, with which the boy’s dad took umbrage, telling the disgruntled patron to “pipe down”.

The fiery exchanged was the catalyst for a physical fight that broke out on the second floor of the club.

Children were reportedly exposed to the violence, but none were hurt.

The MCC told 7NEWS.com.au it could not comment on the matter due the police investigation, which is ongoing.

In a statement, police said two men were hurt.

“Police are investigating an assault that occurred at a football match in Richmond on April 28,” Victoria Police said.

“It is believed a group of men were involved in a physical altercation.

“Two of the men sustained minor injuries.

“All parties involved were spoken to by police.

“An investigation into the incident remains ongoing.”
