Bangladesh to create guidelines for LEO satellite operators

The Bangladesh government ordered mobile operators to shut down 4G services again on Sunday – just days after services were switched back on – amid a fresh wave of deadly violence as protesters demand the resignation of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Industry association the Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI), which includes Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea among its members, has questioned the continuation of licence fees in their present form.

Cambodia’s telecoms regulator has reportedly warned SIM card vendors and mobile operators to stop activating unregistered SIM cards or face prosecution.
