Star Alliance’s SAS, which will join SkyTeam on September 1, has three A321LRs and doesn’t anticipate having more. The equipment has 22 business seats, 12 in premium economy, and 123 in economy. They each have just 157 seats. So long as flights are sufficiently full with decent fares, it’ll overcome the inherently higher seat-mile costs of the low-capacity aircraft.
