Air India has a remarkable history, making it a pioneer in aviation. It kicked off as Tata Airlines in 1932, founded by J.R.D. Tata started out carrying mail and then transformed into Air India by 1946. It was ahead of the game in Asia, being the first to bring jet aircraft like the Boeing 707 into the fleet around the early ’60s and started flying between New Delhi and New York.
