What Aircraft Carriers Are Certified To Operate The Navy’s F-35C Fighters?

It may come as a surprise, but the Navy purchased a fifth-generation fighter that could not operate off their aircraft carriers – at least not without modifications. The modifications are made as the carriers are taken in for refit and so the process will not be complete until all the carriers are eventually circled through their scheduled refits. The F-35s come in three variants. The F-35A is a land-based Air Force variant.
