An F-22 Raptor was involved in a crash on May 6 at the Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport. According to reporting by the Air Force Times, the incident was called a “mishap” by the commander of the Air Dominance Center. It is unclear if the incident took place on the ground or was an in-flight emergency. The F-22 Raptor has been in service for over 20 years now and has never shot down a plane (although it has popped balloons).
