Lithuania, a Baltic state and formerly part of the Soviet Union), is one of the easternmost members of NATO. Bordering Russia to the east and Russian enclave Kaliningrad to the south, this would mean Lithuania could be in the thick of it if Russia and NATO were embroiled in direct combat.
