The UK Rail Business Development Manager of Mosdorfer Rail is marking 35 years working in the railway with a 240 miles cycle ride for the Railway Benefit Fund (RBF).
Stuart Woodsell and his colleague Lee Brun will cycle 80 miles a day from his home office in Somerset to the work office in Sheffield, stopping off at railway stations and depots along the route.
He said: “My career started making steel fabrications for the Docklands Light Railway, and concluded in 2023 as Managing Director of Mosdorfer Rail. After a year of semi-retirement I have recently re-joined Mosdorfer in a business development role covering UK + Ireland
“I have decided to give a little bit back to our industry by raising funds for the Railway Benefit Fund as I see the value of its support to the rail community. I would appreciate anyone making a donation for this incredible organisation which supports those working in the railway industry.”
Earlier this year it was revealed that demand for RBF services has nearly tripled in the past five years. In 2023 more than 500 applications were received resulting in more than 1,000 railway people receiving direct financial support and many more receiving advice and signposting.
