During more than half a century of commercial flying, the Boeing 747 has created a considerable legacy that has caused many aviation enthusiasts to come to revere the 'Queen of the skies.' However, this all had to start somewhere, and, as it happens, today marks 54 years since the type operated its first commercial flight.
