EFE Rail are producing a newly tooled range of GWR 10 ton ‘Bloater’ vans in OO gauge. These accurately detailed models replicate the full history of these fish carrying vehicles in both GWR and British Railways liveries. We expect these to arrive by the end of May 2024.

Prototype Information
The GWR āBloaterā vans were built for fish traffic from 1916 onwards, to replace an ageing fleet of older designs used to transport fish. Due to the nature of the cargo, the vans were reserved solely for fish traffic and worked mainly from the major fishing ports in Cornwall and Pembrokeshire.
