On Saturday, May 18, the Museum ran our caboose train for no other reason than to just ride the train. We had great weather and a good group of guests who seemed to enjoy themselves. We even had free food to help stave off the munchies. Volunteers Ron Roach, Jackie Anzlovar, Ben Bevel, John McDowell, Dwight Maxey, Colin Mellin, Kendall Crouch, Chris Pollard, Bruce Davis, Dannis Hudson, Abel Erber, Henry Falko, Reid Adams and Paul Brown made sure that everyone had a ticket to ride, a seat to ride on, and were able to enjoy a train ride, and maybe learn a bit about railroad history and our museum.
We had a pretty good turn out with nearly 100 guests taking a ride. We even had a few people express an interest in volunteering at the museum. We hope they find their way back in the future. Keep an eye on our Facebook page and the website for future train ride events. Next up will be June 15th for Fathers Day and then the 4th of July where The Patriot, Engine 102 really shows off!
I have included some pictures from today’s event, enjoy.
