The Mornington Tourist Railway is a heritage railway near Mornington, a town on the Mornington Peninsula, near Melbourne, Victoria. The line is managed by the Mornington Railway Preservation Society and operates on part of the former Victorian Railways branch line which ran from Baxter to Mornington.
Travel with the train driver as we travel from Moorooduc to Mornington on the Mornington Tourist Railway in the South Eastern suburbs of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia in a T class locomotive built in 1968.
Sadly the mainline points have recently been removed by V/line and the Victorian Government preventing any rollingstock transfers to and from the railway as it possible with other heritage groups.
Some years ago the Mornington Railway Station was closed and sadly Victrack decided to sell the land and remove rail access forever to the Mornington Township.
The video above is a great example of what trains probably looked like on the line when it was in revenue service.
Ensure you make an effort to visit and ride the railway.
