Since its service introduction in 1995, the Boeing C-17 Globemaster III has come to serve as a workhorse of the United States Air Force's strategic airlift fleet. The powerful four-engine aircraft is capable of performing both long-haul heavy transport missions and short missions such as medical evacuations.
