Boeing airplanes have transported United States presidents for several decades. The latest iteration of the presidential aircraft is a pair of modified Boeing 747-200 (VC25A). In 2018, the Air Force continued the legacy with two modified Boeing 747-8 orders to replace the current aging airplanes.

When we reported in February of this year that US President Donald Trump was touring a privately-owned Boeing 747-8, we somewhat thought this was just a publicity stunt to highlight that he wanted Boeing to move faster on the two VC-25Bs undergoing work to become the new pair of Air Force Ones.
