Luck, Timing, Or Just Awful: Why Did The WW2 Consolidated TBY Sea Wolf Torpedo Bomber Never See Battle?

To a marine biologist, the seawolf is a predatory, eel-shaped fish belonging to the Anarhichadidae, first classified in 1832. To a present-day U.S. Navy (USN) submariner, Seawolf is a class of nuclear-powered, fast attack submarines (SSN) in service since 1997. To a present-day *Royal* Navy (RN) surface warfare sailor, Sea Wolf is a surface-to-air missile (SAM) system that’s been in service since 1979. And to hardcore, old-school arcade video game buffs, Sea Wolf was a submarine-themed game released by Midway Games Inc. (no pun intended vis-a-vis the Battle of Midway) in 1976.
