Hi everyone, it’s great to be back after the festive season. To be fair so many did the Santa specials, it must feel to them never ending. We know however the Santa experience was immensely successful .
Today we were very few in number for various reasons, not least the conditions on the roads left by the dreadful weather thus making travel very difficult.
Rex was in and at ’em making parts for the generator frame on Rbr 1675
Meanwhile in the barn 13326, Steve is making ready a new floor bearer for the South vestibule floor and toilet panel support. Once this is done Derek will fit the floor.
Still with 13326, we need the Malvern side south door back on, firstly to check its movement is correct. Then we can measure and fit a new Z section for the door lock side. We use a purpose made lifting bracket to bring the door to the correct height ….. so easy and safe.
Voila the door is on all 3 hinges ……
Ben is fettling the door edge for a perfect fit.
The Z section is welded into place, just needs the intermediate brackets welded and it’s done. We can now fit the first of the two end skins.
Dragging myself away and upstairs to the upholstery department, John is covering armrests I think for 4867 when it comes in sometime this year.
Eve, Laura and Jenny all doing much of the same but for the ‘Dean Forest Railway’ ……
Simon is making new shelving for the servery in 1675
…… Geoff is doing some fine detailing on window surrounds again for 1675.
Simon has moved from the workshop into 1675 kitchen area ……
……. one shelf done, next one on the way.
Not too many of us but never the less good progress was made, I believe there is a shunt this Saturday so we will be working in a warmer environment next week, in the paintshop and main workshop.
