On a Sunday flight from Palma de Mallorca to Vienna, an Austrian Airlines flight encountered a hail storm en route, resulting in severe damage to the aircraft. Initial reports have stated that the crew could not see the storm on the radar; however, once they hit the storm, the cockpit windows were severely damaged with cracks, and the radome (nose of the aircraft) was shattered to pieces.
