IATA reported that in 2022, air traffic grew by 150%. The report, which stated that 300 airlines made up 83% of global air traffic, was presented after the aviation sector recovered from the slump during the COVID-19 pandemic. Compared to March 2022, the figure of revenue passenger kilometers or RPKs increased by 52.4%. This shows that the demand for air travel is increasing throughout the world. And given that half of the worlds busiest airports are in North America, knowing about traffic management initiatives in this continent is extremely important.
