After quite a number of delays, Parliament’s Transport and Infrastructure Select Committee finally released its report on the **[Inquiry into the future of inter-regional passenger rail in New Zealand](https://selectcommittees.parliament.nz/v/6/3f66b447-9b3b-492e-8857-08db7c2fcbf3)** on Monday, 3rd July 2023. While there is a lot to like, there are also some areas of concern. And the government is due to respond to the reports findings on the 27th of September, right in the middle of the 2023 national election campaign.
