Weekend Rail Repair Plan

Passengers are urged to plan ahead this weekend, 3 – 4 February, as essential Rail Repair Plan trackwork continues to build a more resilient and reliable network in New South Wales.

Trackwork will have full weekend impacts for some sections of the T2, T3, T4, T5 and T8 lines, so passengers are urged to check their travel apps for the most up-to-date information.

On both Saturday and Sunday buses will replace trains between Macarthur, Glenfield and Fairfield on the T2 Leppington and T8 Airport and South lines.

Buses will also replace trains between Lidcombe, Liverpool and Sydenham on the T3 Bankstown line and on the T4 Eastern Suburbs and Illawarra line between Sutherland and Cronulla during this period.

On the T5 Cumberland line, buses will replace trains between Glenfield and Fairfield.

On Sunday on both the T5 and the T1 Western Line, buses replace trains from 5.30am to 8.45am between Richmond and Blacktown and from 8.45am to 11am, between Richmond and Schofields.

Sydney Trains will have around 871 workers undertaking a significant amount of work to remove 41 high-priority defects over this period.

Some trains may run to changed stopping pattern and timetable.

This includes the T2 Inner West Line trains, which will not run between Homebush and the City on both Saturday and Sunday, however T1 Western and T9 Northern Line trains will make extra stops at Inner West stations to help passengers get to their destination.

Passengers may need to change trains and are encouraged to allow extra travel time and plan ahead by visiting transportnsw.info or using trip planning apps.

Sydney Trains thanks our passengers for their patience as we work to build a more resilient and reliable network.
