Serious derailment of CPKC in Montpelier, Iowa yesterday, local K71.
According to reports the crew lost the brakes on the train and were unable to stop it, due to a very steep grade in the area, there is talk that the lead locomotive had no dynamic brake, the engineer was seriously injured and was transported to a nearby hospital, the conductor was reported with minor injuries.
