Tom Elliott has listed the two main reasons why he believes the Airport Rail Link will never be built.

Premier Jacinta Allan has poured cold water on the idea of the major transport project being finished by 2030, a timeline put on the table by Melbourne Airport on Monday.

The 3AW Mornings host says it’s time for a complete re-think on the plans for a train between the city and Tullamarine.

“I don’t think it’s going to go ahead,” Tom Elliott said on 3AW.

“The whole thing needs to be re-thought.”

  1. The government is broke due to wasting money on very expensive overpriced road projects without a viable business case.

    The question is why the route chooses and the costs. $13b for dedicated tracks from airport to sunshine station. Another rebuild of sunshine station when the airport line option could have been included in the recent rebuild.
