As travel restrictions eased throughout Northeast Asia during 2023, there was a corresponding return of international services, and passenger traffic began its long recovery toward pre-COVID levels. Japan's ANA Holdings, parent of All Nippon Airways, followed that trend, and between April and December 2023, the airline increased international passenger numbers by close to 90% compared to the same nine months in 2022.
