At least 22 cattle dead after truck smashes into Melbourne rail bridge in ‘horrific’ crash

A truck loaded with cattle crashed into a bridge in Melbourne on Tuesday night, leaving at least 22 cows dead.

Vision from the crash shows a number of cattle became stuck on the truck after the top deck of the trailer was crushed during impact.

Injured cattle were seen struggling on Alexandra Avenue in South Yarra, where the crash occurred.

Many cattle were killed or lamed in the accident

Almost one in three cattle on board the truck died, authorities have confirmed.

Cattle were found roaming the road and the surrounding area injured

  1. The driver of there truck should NEVER be allowed to drie a cattle truck again and what was be doing on a road that CANNOT support B-Double trucks?

    1. The driver needed to take more care and clearly he was not up to it. I hope they charge him with a range of offences.

      Why was he going so fast in a residential area?

    2. I wonder if the overseas licence holder are currently being a issue?

      It seems that they don’t know our road regulation and laws, and why are they automatically allowed to drive on our roads?

      Shouldn’t they take take course to get familiar with our countries road and safety laws in our country before being allowed operate a car, it seems they are driving to their country’s road laws and rules still…..

      Our safety regulator decision makers and state government has a lot to answer for…
