The Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (COMAC) C929 is a planned widebody aircraft designed to compete with Airbus and Boeing widebodies and potentially disrupt the longstanding duopoly. Preliminary specifications of the Chinese-developed aircraft are at par with the latest Airbus and Boeing jets. The idea of the C929 program began in 2011 but has faced several delays in the design phase.
