In a bid to to reduce carbon emissions 24 new battery-powered trains head for Denmark

On 26 June, Polish regional operator Koleje Mazowieckie and Stadler signed a framework agreement for 50 FLIRT trains for the region of Masovia.

On 18 November, tri-mode trains started operating passenger services on part of the South Wales Metro, the first time such trains had run in the UK.
