Based on examining Cirium schedules data, more than 1,100 airports globally have regional jet flights in August. The love-to-hate equipment group operates approximately 10,000 daily flights. RJ services have fallen almost annually, pushing down their share. However, larger and more economical aircraft have somewhat counterbalanced this, increasing seats per departure. This is especially true in the US, which accounts for 67% of RJ flights in August, as enabled by that country’s pilot scope clause agreement.
